If there’s one thing you could change in the fashion industry what would it be?

If there was one thing about the fashion industry I could change, it would be the inclusion of more “in-between” sized models. Right now in the industry you are either a plus size model or straight sized model; is size 8-14 really plus sized?  Why are we saying to women that to be of an average size, is to be more than what they should be? Better yet- what IS average sized?! We are ALL different shapes and sizes, literally! Who decided what average/straight/plus is? Why do in-between models have to pad up/put on weight or lose jobs because they aren’t big enough? They can’t book plus sized jobs but they can’t book straight sized jobs either.....so what’s left? Surely this contributing  to how women view their bodies in the world negatively similarly to only having straight sized models being represented does, but plus sized women should just be happy that we can finally find our sizes in some stores now, right?

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

In 5 years I see myself as an advocate for self love, natural/raw beauty, and diversity. I don’t want the following generations of young women and models alike to face the same struggles we do today and feel the same doubt that we aren’t good enough simply by being ourselves.

What does Beauty mean to you?

Beauty to me means valuing the journey to self discovery and love. Paying attention to what your body, mind and soul need, accepting it, and allowing these things to come into your life without hesitation or doubts. Sometimes the pressures of the world get to us and we feel we have to want something because it’s normal or it’s what the latest trend is, but if it’s not for you then is just not for you! I find beauty in being able to accept who you are even when the world is telling you that you shouldn’t, and unapologetically be proud about it.
